Is the term used to describe an alignment of two celestial bodies when viewed from Earth. As a result they appear in almost the same position in the night sky.

Inferior conjunctions occur when a body lies between the Sun and Earth. Mercury and Venus can reach inferior conjunction. Superior conjunctions occur when objects are located on the opposite side of the Sun from our perspective.
