A large group of stars bound by their mutual gravitational attraction. There are two types of clusters, open and globular clusters. Of these, open or galactic clusters usually contain young stars, sparsely populated and located within the galaxy. On the other hand, globular clusters are very old, densely populated and located in a halo surrounding the galaxy.
