An elementary particle with effectively no mass or electrical charge. Since they hardly interact with matter they are incredibly difficult to detect. Neutrions are created in nuclear reactions inside the Sun and supernovae. Active galactic nuclei or gamma-ray bursts can also produce very high-energy neutrinos.
