A type of catadioptric telescope that uses both mirrors and lenses. Light enters through a thin correcting lens and is then reflected by the primary mirror at the rear of the telescope back towards the correcting lens. A secondary mirror fitted at the centre of the correcting lens reflects the light back towards and through an opening in the primary mirror where the image is formed.
