A measure of how reflective a surface is. It's the ratio of the amount of electromagnetic radiation reflected by an object to the amount that falls on it. An object with an albedo of 1 is 100% reflective, while an object with an albedo of 0 doesn't reflect anything at all.
The Moon has an albedo of 0.07. It therefore reflects only 7% of incoming radiation and is blacker than coal.
